Am I right in assuming that I need to check the timing chain in this model? (Same problem as the 420SEL?.). It has 118K on the clock. Are there any other inherent drivetrain problems I need to be aware of?. I was sure that this model was my best investment for the long-term. Did I miss something?. What is normal gas mileage for the 560SEL?....by the way--great site!!!

Speedray,
My '89 420SEL gets about 17/23 per gallon. Not to bad.

As weird as it may sound, I have never seen a 560 motor jump timming like a 420. Why I don't know but the rails are the same. The 420 though I have seen 4 or 5 jump and kill the valve train.
