Replacing Dust Filter

Along with a oil change, it is suggested that the dust filter be replaced, which is behind the glove compartment. I changed the oil ok. I had a very hard time struggling with the the glove compartment to get the dust filter out. I took it to the dealer, because I gave up on it, they took the car in the shop and replaced it within minutes... Did I miss something????
