E55 Command RDS
 

According to some information regarding my 2001 E55 from Alldata, the Command system radio has RDS capability but has to be activated. Can anybody help me with the activation.

Neither the COMAND 2.0 (E class, CLK class or 203 chassis C class) or COMAND 2.5 (S class, CL class) have RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data System) functionality.
Some of the very early literature on this system did indicate that RBDS was a feature of COMAND.
MB says the possiblity exists for design update to RBDS, but is not currently planned.

I have messed with this before.

I think you can enable the TV funcion on the US version, but it lacks the tuner. So, what we did was to use the A/V inputs and an Alpine mobile tuner. Then the screen was used as a TV.

I don't see how the RDS question got turned into a TV question?
