I have two Mercedes one is a 1971 280 SE and a 1985 380 SE both of which have transmisson's that clunck. In the 280SE it clunks when going from park to drive. The 380SE clunks when from coasting at low speeds and I accelerate which is very annoying while driving in slow rush hour traffic. Thank in advance. Brian Clark

Have you checked the driveshaft flex discs? They are made of rubber and do wear out.
