Sun Roof Over My Head

HELP!!! MY SUNROOF IS MESSED UP... I INSTALLED A NEW MOTOR AND CABLE AND THE ROOF ONLY OPENS .NO MATTER WHICH WAY I RUN THE SWITCH THE ROOF ONLY OPENS . MAYBE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. SO WHEN I CRANK THE ROOF CLOSED WITH THE WRENCH IT CLOSES BUT THE REAR OF THE ROOF DOES NOT RAISE AND LEAVES ABOUT A ONE INCH GAP THAT THE ROOF SAGS DOWN .I NEED TO MENTION THAT THE CAR IS A 420 S E L , 1986 AND IT HAS THE TYPE OF ROOF THAT NOT ONLY SLIDES BUT ALSO RAISES THE REAR UP.I HAVE A SHOP MANUAL BUT IT DOES NOT COVER THE DUAL ACTION ROOF. I KNOW THEIR ARE ADJUSTMENTS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO RAISE THE REAR OF THE ROOF BUT I CANT SEE THEM I HAVE HAD THE HEADLINER OUT BUT STILL CANT SEE THE ADJUSTMENTS. ANY IDEAS HOW TO TRACK DOWN WHY THE ROOF ONLY OPENS , NO MATTER WHICH WAY I RUN THE SWITCH ...THANKS

IF YOU LOOK AT THE SUNROOF MOTOR, IT HAS A WHITE KNOB ON IT. TRY ADJUSTING IT. PULL IT OUT 1 KNOCH. TURN ITCLOCKWISE ABOUT 2 TURNS. IF IT HELPS KEEP ADJUSTING IT UNTILL IT CLOSES CORRECTLY. IF IT DOES NOT HELP, TURN IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE.

You need to get a copy of the instructions to time the sequence of the operation of your roof. I don't have them handy, and I'm hoping someone will chime in here. If that doesn't solve the problem, I have other suggestions.
