Hi Frank Reiner - thank you for your question.

I think the answer is yes... but it does not upshift to 2nd gear when in gear selector position "2". I am wondering of the torque converter is failing...since the driveline seems to decouple after coming to near stop, and then won't re-engage 2nd gear, unless manually downshifted to gear selector position "2". As noted, I think it starts in 1st in selector position "2" and stays in 1st until I manually shift to "3" or "D".
