Wood Steering Wheel replacement 92 300E

Hi; Can anyone tell me where I can find a wood steering wheel with the airbag to replace the factory issue on a 1992 300E?
Thanks to all who help

No such luck on the W124 series...:(

I can find one for my SL and ML at www.************************, but there doesn't seem to be an E-class counterpart.

Right now I have one of those cheap vinyl "burlwood" imitation steering wheel covers on my W124. I know, kinda cheesy, but if you can get past the initial "taste factor", it actually integrates quite nicely with the rest of the wood interior.

My current steering wheel grip has eroded to the point that something had to be done, so the cover is just a stop gap until I find a suitable replacement.

BTW, they wouldn't sell you one with the airbag...you would have to remove your OEM airbag and reinstall it onto the new steering wheel...

I was wondering about that myself. Does anybody know whether one of the later model OEM wheels would fit?

The W210 (later E-class) steering wheels are different and won't fit.

I have found suppliers that carry wood steering wheels for the W210...but alas, none for the venerable W124...:(

My favorite is the W220 wheel. Any chance it might fit on the W124?

Good news: :)

I just located a place in Texas that can get them!

http://www.dallasprecisionimports.com

Ask for Gordy.

Bad news: :(

He has a MAJOR backorder for them...been trying to get them since February!

He sells them for $780.

On benzsport someone took a clk55 steering wheel and mated it to their 190e.

It was 2phast who did it. I believe he swapped the inside of the wheel from his old 190e wheel to the clk55 wheel and then it bolted on.

So it may be possible to do any mb wheel.

There are many companies that sell wood / leather steering wheels for 124's.

This website sells several, and they are fairly cheap, especially compared to the ones at ************************:

http://www.eris-car.com/

Hi-Power has ordered two of them, one for his 95 E420, and one for his '86 300E. They both fit factory perfect.

FWIW, they come from Germany.

Thanks for the thread and to all else who responded. It is a great recource for the wheel and it seems like a few other upgrades too.

Sincerely,
Brian

Gordy just called me back and said he has a couple of different ones now available.

I will stop by his shop and see what he has to offer!:)
