'86 300E - Wiring for Trailer Lights

I put down a deposit on a tent trailer today and I'll be picking it up next weekend. I've ordered a hitch from Da'Lan that should be here mid-week. I'd like to do a clean job of wiring the trailer lights. Does M-B make any type of wiring harness for trailers that plugs inline with the brake light harness? If not, does anyone know of a good way to splice into the cars wiring besides using the 3M Scotch Lock splices? Will I cause any problem with the "Bulb Out" warning light system?

Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gary
