Can I fix my fuel distributor? It has no pressure to 1 cyl.
After looking and replacing everything from vaccum lines to additional air valves in my fuel system to correct a rough idle/miss, Stevebfl reccommended that I loosen each line coming from my fuel distributor one at a time to see if I had a flow problem. Steves "the man", On my last line to loosen to Cyl. #5 no fuel coming out at all. Now what are my options? Can I fix this? If I need a new one, where is the most reasonable place? Also, mine is the black iron type. If I need a new one, do I need to replace my old one with the newer alloy type and what modiffications changes should I have to make? Does it just bolt on? HELP....my wife wants to want to drive her SL this summer.

You may have an injector stuck open.You should disconnect the fuel pipe from the suspected hole on the fuel distributor and then start engine. If no fuel comes out of the fuel distributor hole then the fuel distributor is bad. If fuel comes out then the injector is probably stuck wide open and should be replaced.

I would like to clarify. I had the engine running when I loosened each fuel line from the distributor and had pressure to all lines that go to the injecectors from the distributor but one and no fuel at all. In fact I completely pulled the line loose and no fuel while running,

Once one is clogged, there is no backing up. I would get a reman unit. Call Phil in the PartsShop and he will get one to you pronto.

When I get one do I just bolt on and go or are there any adjustments other than CO/idle on the mixture controller?

next to the line on the top of the fuel distributor is a cap allen key screw, take that off, inside is an adjustment screw, 3mm I believe, with the ignition key in on postion, adjust that screw, I don't know which way, then push the air plate down slowly, about an inch or so and then back up, keep adjusting and pushing the plate 1 inch each time until fuel comes out, if it doesn't then replace the distributor, they hardly ever go bad unless the car has been sitting a long time
