Question 280 tranny in 1967 250s

will a 280s (19??) tranny fit on a 250s? (1967)

looks like the tranny is a (writen in white chalk) 280s 71.
will it fit on a 250s 1967?

Dan,
Not only will it not physically fit because it is wider, but mechanically it won't work. The tranny in your car is a K4A-025 with no control pressure rod. You have a 3 position solenoid on the top of your tranny that controls shift points. The tranny you are considering is a K4C-025 with a control pressure rod. They continued using the early version like yours in the 280Sl until end of production in 71, because there was no room for the later version. \\the sedans were converted in 69 when the window controls want from the driver's door to the center console.
