Installing aftermarket keyless entry, '86 300 SDL
I'm pretty sure I bought this same unit in 2017 and got it to work just fine. It gradually declined, I lost one remote, I tried to put batteries in the other one and it wouldn't hold together .
I found what I'm pretty sure is the same unit still on Amazon, made by Vankcp. The fobs are identical and so is the box, the jacks, everything. Except the wiring to the harness is changed somewhat. And the instructions are as inscrutable as I recall in the first one. I don't know how I got the damn thing to work. The colored wire in these diagrams is what I have to work with on the harness, I don't recognize the symbols to the left. I don't have a key for the trunk. Back when it had this working it was a nifty way to lock the trunk. https://i.postimg.cc/j504pWQD/IMG-8781.jpg |

Thanks. As funky as this thing seems, yhe first incarnation of it worked perfectly for two years, not especially long, but then the cost is $16.
