Some one proceeded to argue that a quart of transmission fluid to a tank of fuel would clean the system! I gathered from this forum no additives are necessary.
Any comments? |

In a perfect world fuel additives aren't necessary. Using auto trans fluid won't hurt the fuel system, but might damage any diesel system with a catlyst. If the fuel system isn't working properly why wouldn't you use a diesel fuel additive?

It sounds similar to the addage of use a tank of high octane gas every so many tanks to keep the fuel injetors clean. Does sound radical though as you say there have to be credible additives on the market.
