I have a 1988 500 SEL. Wot a beauty!
Following a minor front end collision, the engine periodically and without warning shuts down. The ignition lights all come on and it restarts immediately. I have had it suggested it might be a faulty fuel relay (whatever that may mean - IANAM!) Any suggestions? TIA Geoffrey |
The problem might be the fuel pump relay, but usually the car won't restart every time if the relay is bad.

The fuel pump relay is located inside the engine compartment under the hood close to the windscreen. It says kickdown on top of it usually.
