Brake Fluid

I'm thinking about purchasing a Motive Products "Power Bleeder". They've got a special going where I can also get 2 bottles of my "favorite" fluid included. Well, I've never done a brake bleed on my 16V (I'm getting ready to install SS brake lines), so I don't have a "favorite. My question is, which fluid to go with  --

[1] ATE Super Blue/Gold Racing, or
[2] Motul 600 (100% synthetic; no silicone), or
[3] Valvoline SynPower DOT 3/DOT 4 Brake Fluid

Thanks!

White Guage

Not sure about the brake fluid but I nticed that you had white guages. Could you by chance post a picture? I am thinking about the same thing and would like to know it looks.

Thanks

Why not use Mercede's own branded fluid? It's a DOT 4+. I'm paranoid when it comes to my cars and the only thing that goes in them that's not labelled M-B is Mobil 1 drive train fluids and Redline Water Wetter.

Of the group you list I can only confirm the ATe fluid as being Dot4+.

The boiling point is higher on Dot 4+. MB recommends atleast Dot 4 be used. Other than achieving a higher boiling point there would be no difference in braking.

also, since you are going to be armed and dangerous with your power bleeder, i would go with the ATE BLUE so that on your next change you will easily see the new fluid come through regardless of the brand, or if you stick with ATE then gold as per its design.

Thanks guys!

jsmith: Yes, blue and gold versions are the same. They recommend alternating colors between changes so there's a clear indication when the old fluid is purged (i.e. - blue --> gold; gold --> blue).

davidmash - white gauges

David -

White gauges came with the car when I purchased. Unable to post pics right now, but let me tell you -- they look awesome! I would recommend getting them.
