When my car has been sitting over a couple of hours, it takes several times to get it started. Also, it hesitates for a while after that. It runs wonderfully after that. I have replaced the plugs, wires and rotor botton, as well as cleaning the throttle body. I think I need to replace my timing chain tensioner also, could this have any effect on starting?

My trick is that if you push the accelerator 3 times before starting the engine, it should be easier to start it... For the rest, Benzmac and the rest are the only ones who can help you...

The push the pedal before you crank method will not help a Mercedes because most are fuel injected...This only helps on a carb equiped engine!! IT sounds to me as if you are experiencing fuel pressure leak down. Where from? I don't know. Also if the battery has been down and jump started lately, the overvoltage relay can be faulty or the fuse inside of it. It is located behind the battery and is small and silver with a red top on it...Goood luck

I have found that the fuel injectors have been the most likely source of leakage. They can be removed and tested but special equipment is required. The engine usually will start hard and then shake until it clears and then it returns to normal.

Checked the overvoltage relay fuse.... sure enough, it was blown. The car starts great now. You definately saved me a lot of time & money. Thanks!
