Ditto that!
I never knew much about the 230E, but from reading posts, it was evident that 99% of the owners were from countries other than the US... ...My Haynes manual doesn't even cover the 2.3L engine...hmmmm

Good to see someone else who owns a 230 E. I am the third owner of my 230E and so far I'm satisfied with the vehicle. I do often have trouble with parts availability but have recently found the Parts shop to be an enormous help. Which engine do you have installed? I have the 2.3L 8V, similar to the 190E 2.3L if not the same. I will try to post a picture of mine in the next couple of days. I do have some climate control questions.... Do you have the automatic climate control or the three vertical pushbuttons and dual thumbwheels?

I have the 8Valve also. It takes most of the same parts as the 190E 2.3 it just has bigger bores and pistons. Dual thumb wheel climate control.

230E
The 230E is actually a very elegant car ... and also a very economical one. The spare parts cost much less than for the other MERC models.
By the way THANKS Guys for commenting on the 230E . I was feeling a bit lonely as 230 was never discussed in the Forum. |

here's d 4th 230E
I bought my car from the original owner. It sure is a lovely ride .I still will change the tyres to 215/60/15 later in the year.
yeah i too would love to find more discussions on the 230 E. But I think it is because more guys on this forum reside in the US where u have more of the bigger engines than in europe where the 230E is predominant. oh well i still love ma car and this forum is still da bomb. Chandan, I thought I recognised the plates. As you know, the 124 chassis 230E's are here in the UAE in great numbers and of course Europe too. It is a pity they did not import them to the US so our American friends can enjoy them too ! Cheers form Dubai !

Since the W201 and W124 are closely related, many parts are shared. In MOST parts of the world, the W124 was available with a greater variety of engines, including four cylinders and diesels.
