V230 central locking problems
 

HELP! I have a 1998 V230. The remote will not lock the vehicle, or set the alarm. (I can hear the system try to lock, then unlock). It usually takes a while to shut all the doors and windows again to get the locking to work - not any more. I can't lock the tailgate with the key, it just tries to lock then unlock, could it be the mechanism in the tailgate has been damaged? I have tried to lock the vehicle from the inside using the central locking swith on the dash but nothing happens!
