R134a

Just want to make sure.. When chargeing a converted sytem to R134A, do you still add R134A to the low side pressure port? Thanks,

BD

Jim is right, but I'll take it further, ABSOLUTELY. You charge the low side on ANY system. This is a SAFETY issue. If you try to charge at the high side, you could explode the can in your hand.

Also a converted system can be tricky. Don't try to do it with a suicide hose. Use a set of manifold gauges so you can monitor the high side pressure. With most conversions this is what you have to go by unless you are charging an evacuated system by volume.

Good luck,

Thanks

I appreciate the information. I have a set of gauges but it has been in the high 90's this week and over 100 in my garage, so I parked it until this weekend. I will have a little time early in the morning and I will dig into then. Thanks!
