jerking steering wheel
hi, my 1995 SL steering move to left and right when it goes over the potholes. is it time for realignment?

Steering damper. If you are going to explore potholes frequently, you may need a different type of vehicle, i.e. HUM VEE or M1A1 Abrams. Both are up to the task.

thanks for the reply. the street in LA is suck. The steering damper is brand new. the problem started when all 4 accumulator were changed. any advise appreciated.

have the same prob with my 190D. except that it feels like something is tugging the steering wheel sometimes left, sometimes to the right. Had the alignment checked twice (no probs there). It got a little better after relacement of an idler arm bushing, front struts, and new tires, but it's still there. The mech has now clue what it may be. Front end is a little loose, but nothing needs to be replaced. Basically, I just ignore it, but car does not track on the road as solid as when I bought it. Bummer...
