I would like to know how to remove a water pump from a 1989 190E, 2.6 L engine. Have take out the radiator, thus far, and, it appears that some of the manifold must be removed. Desire to remove as little as possible--doing work in my garage. Appreciate any advice and suggestions I can get.

Take notes. If you take out the first bolt on the intake manifold and remove the two clamps from the small hose at the head and cut off the hose it will give you more room to work. Now if you have all 6mm allen boltws the easiest thing to do is to take out the poly belt tensioner to get at the bottom bolt then the water pump will roll out and back in with ease. Replace all hoses and clamps with factory ones.
