Dear Friends,

My old man's 126 (1986 380SEL) two front seats and rear "bench" need some attention. A few questions:

I've intertwined 12 coat hangers through the rear "bench", tightening it up considerably. Do you think this technique will do the trick on the front two seats?

How do I remove the front seats without damaging the electronic mechanism that moves the chair along it's tracks?

Where can I obtain the padding (cheaply if possible)?

Finally, does the padding have to be fire-proof?

Thanks,

David Rayment.

You can get new padding and springs from your local parts supplier. There is available some spring stops that will tighten the seat up alot!!

We will be offering parts in two weeks or less and can send them to your door.

Awesome. Thanks Benzmac.

BTW, will they be available internationally? (I'm in Australia) Might be cheaper to check up round here...

Yes, we will be able to ship parts around the world but, due to shipping costs it may be more cost effective for you to buy locally. Once we get set up, in about 2 weeks, we'll be glad to quote parts and shipping to you.

We'll have to get Benzmac to fill the rest of in on what these "seat stops" are so we can figure out if we have them or not. So far, we can't find any Mercedes part number that coincides with them. We're working on it...
