Unhappy A/C and Transmission

Help, there is a 3 week long heat wave and for some reason my 1993 190E constantly puts out heat from the defroster vents, under the windshield and out of the the far left and far right vents. the only air cones fgrome the center vents and the windows.... Another promblem I am having, is my tranny seems to be bangging into gears, in first and second. First the tranny hessitates, creating high RPM's. Then BANG!! Can Any one please help me?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Start by checking all rubber connectors to the vac lines under the hood, replace any that are hard, or better yet just replace them all. Check for any loose vac lines and reconnect. Hopefully it won't be one of the vacuum acuators for the climate control, which are located in the dash.

Don't overlook the vacuum line to the modulator on the tranny, it may be off, or leaking too.
