What are these red tabs at the base of the rear seat? 86 300e
Before I go pulling on these, what are these red tabs. There are 2 of them and they are located at the base of the rear seat near the passengers floorboards. (one on each side)
They are either... tabs used to remove the back seat cushion It's a tether system for child safty seats. (My car isn't from Canada... were these options?) If that's the case, that's great. This is the only explination I can think of as to why these would be painted red. Thanks for answering a dumb question...

These are release tabs for the bottom seat cushion. I don't know why they are painted red either.

It won't don any good to go pulling on them - you have to push on them and then pull up on the front part of the seat.
