M119 Owners pleas post your oil pressure readings.
My oil pressure is reading low.
Idle in D .5 bar Idle in N 1 bar 1000 rpm in D 1.75 bar What are your readings, I think mine are low. I hope it is a bad sendor and nothing worse. The low oil pressure is worrying me. BTW my car is the 94 E420 Subman

Perfectly normal readings...
Subman,
Check your owner's manual. It'll tell you that oil pressure may safely go as low as 0.3 bar at idle. Mine tends to go to 0.5 bar at idle, in gear, in hot weather (if I'm using conventional oil). The key is it should peg the needle by about 1800 RPM. FWIW, my oil pressure NEVER goes below 1.0 bar since I switched to Mobil 1 15W-50 oil. According to MB, low idle pressure is nothing to worry about, but it DOES make me feel better to see those readings a little higher!

Mine tends to float around 1.5 once the car is completely warmed up in drive. I've been using Valvoline 20W50 Synthetic.
I'll look again today to get a better idea.

JimF,
I have read that post and it is a possibility. I do have a ticking noise but it is comming from my water pump. I would like to check these Oil Tubes but I dont realy want to open the motor up just to look at them, then I would have to replace gasgets and such. Funny thing is later that day i started the car and the oil pressure was at 2 at idle in P and D. That made me much happier. I dont know what happend the firsts time, when I drive the car today I am going to watch it and see what it does. I found the specs on the 124 CD and I am with in the sepecs so I am happy about that too. Here is what it says: 600-700 rpm = .3-1.5 bar 1000 rpm = .7-3 bar 2000 rpm = 1.6- 5 bar 2500 rpm = 2-5.5 bar 3000 rpm = 2.5-5.5 bar 4000 rpm = 2.7-5.5 bar 5000 rpm = 2.8-5.5 bar If the oil pressure does not meet the min then a warning lite is to come on, I have not seen this lite so I feel good. Thanks guys Subman

I swapped out my Oil Pump and still I my op drops to .8 when fully hot. Down to .3 is safe but I think there is a correlation between timing chain wear and oil pressure. Remember the pump is driven by the timing chain.

Just a quick update, I watched my oil pressure all day and it pretty much stays at 1.9 to 2 in drive when stopped. Hope this helps. Maybe the problem fixed itself.

I watched mine today, and at idle it is about 1.9 and in drive about 1.6. Engine at normal operating temp. Castrol 20-50W in there now with about 3k on it.
