Here's another strange problem (maybe not so strange to the eperienced) The height in the rear of my 83 TDT is unusually low. The fluid is not leaking and I just had the accumulators and shocks replaced. This narrows is down to either the Control Valve or the hydraulic pump (both are rather expensive) What is the best way to diagnose which one is the problem? Can I force the the sway bar which is connected to the contol valve in the rear into a position in which it should increase the height? Could there be air in the system from when the struts were replaced? Or is the pump finally gone? Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hey,
On the passanger side of the car at the rear axle is the height control valve. The height is adjustable, just make the adjustment screw shorter until the desired height is reached. It might take a few tries. That would be my first step. Try that and tell us how it works.

The leveling system is designed to level the car under load. With no load on the rear, the springs are responsible for normal ride height. You should get the springs right before you adjust the leveling valve or you will shorten the life of the leveling components. Wish you well.
