Lamp Replacment Question
 

How do I replace the lamp in the gear selector in my 1983 300SD?
I have done this before in my 300D, but I could not find the lamp holder in the SD. Any help would be appreciated.

If you looked and can't find it, this may be the type that has the lamp further ahead in the console and the light is transmitted to a clear plastic block inside the shifter for illumination. Look for something that looks like a thick black wire running to the area near the ashtray, I think it runs off of the very front of the shifter.
