@#$%^!~!!!! I just changed the oil on my 240D 1983 Diesel! I noticed too late, that the Mercedes Filter is 3 inches taller than the FRAM CH37806, though the same style and Design.
It just dawned on me that the Filter should mate with the Canister Lid? Is that why the MERCEDES Oil Filter is a good 3" taller than the FRAM? I wanted to drive the car to work tomorrow, but I can't until I figure this out! |

Go and get the right filter, and don't get a Fram filter, they are the worst filter you can buy. They rate less than adequate in tests. Here is the web page of a good oil filter test. You have a Mercedes, so don't use the cheapest oil filter out there, the filter is a very important part of your car. Take a look at this site, it also has an oil test too. http://minimopar.simplenet.com/oilfilters.html
