Particular traffic signal does weird things to my car...

The only time that I am at this particular stop-light in the turn lane is immediately after I wash my car (get all water out of crevices). Every time I stop here at the red light, my C280 idle's roughly. Not jumpy or anything, just merely a rough idle. I always thought that it had something (?) to do with having just washed my car, until....
I was with my friend Lulu in her C230k at this stoplight, and her idle got rough @ the place (turn lane @ red light).

My question... is there a magnetic field or anything of the sort that can cause weird symptoms on cars, as I described??

It's so weird!

Thanks in advance!

David,

Is there a crop circle near this traffic light?:)

Have a great day,

Here in Virginia . . .

they are switching from the kind of traffic sensors which are buried in slots in the pavement to some sort of radar or laser devices mounted up on the horizontal traffic light supports to tell the light's computer whether there is anyone waiting in each of the lanes in each direction (some people have been mistaking them for red light runner cameras, but that's not what they are). I wonder if they could be sending microwaves which might confuse your computer or your crank sensor? I do get nervous about being microwaved every time I stop at a light, but they certainly can't affect my '85 300TD.

Do you see any small tubes on the lights? They look like those cameras on race cars on TV.
