Hello,

Trying to rebuild the a/c system on my 81 300sd. I already have a new expansion valve, receiver dryer, A/C compressor. Is there anything else I'm missing to make it in working order?
Where is the expansion valve located? Is it easy to replace?

thanks

The expansion valve on a 126 is one of the most difficult to replace...It is located under the dash behind and above the accelerator pedal. If you are not very careful, you can damage the evaperator when changing the valve because it is directly connected to it.
If you are replacing so many other things, be sure to get new swithces for the drier. they usually fail soon after a repair.

there are only two switchs at drier.
one is low pressure switch(black) one is aux fan switch(red)
I will pay someone to do it,it's not a fun DIY job.....it could hurt your back and neck
been a thch for many many years I still hate
to replace expension valve if you don't have the right tools.......I only can tell you....
GOOD LUCK !!!
