I have an '87 300D Euro version 4matic sedan, which has a broken needle bearing retaining ring on the inner front right drive axle.
I've checked with the local MB agent, and was told that this drive shaft assembly has to be replaced (very expensive), and that MB doesn't have a repair kit for this. I'd like to know if there is an aftermarket supplier for the needle bearing repair kit. The whole drive shaft assembly is in very good condition, except for two small retainers, and I don't want to spend so much, knowing that the failure is so easy to correct, if only some small parts were available. Please help. ------------------ Jake |

I do know that there are rebuiders in all areas that rebuild the axleshafts in any car. They will be able to fix it for a fraction of new cost.
