I can't leave my car out in the rain or I will have lots of water on the drivers floor. Will pulling the chrome strip from the windshield
and caulking it help?

have you checked the drain tubes? the best way to do that isgetting under the car near the trans & checking to see if those little black drain tubes are clean.
