I have an '86 420SEL that has been running hot. The coolent is fine. I suspect that the fan might not be working because the needle veers dangerously close to the 120 C mark on the temp guage after sitting in 100 degree weather in traffic for just 5 minutes. Any suggestions??? If it doesn't touch the red is it anything to really worry about? Thanks for any help.

Have you check the fan clutch & radiator thermostat, any one of these parts defect will cause over heating, also check your aux fan operation. ------------------ MB STARS Master Guild Technician,12 years MB tech 5 years independent shop owner |
