electronic ignition/ 450sl

what is your take on installing an electronic ignition on a 450sl? Will it improve performance or hamper it ?

All USA version 450SL's had electronic ignition systems!! The 1972 thru 1975 used points to trigger the system, but it still used a control unit to DWELL the coil.
