190 2.6 water hose?

1991 190 2.6

There is a water hose that runs off the back of the engine and into the firewall. The hose has a hole and is leaking water. Where does it go into the firewall and what is the procedure to replace the hose?

It seems easy to reach at the back of the engine. I am just wondering about how far it goes into the firewall and what I have to remove in order to get to that area?

Thanks,

Blair

I have the exact same problem. By "cowl" do you mean the firewall? It appears, possibly, that this area of the firewall is removable.

How do I remove this, or get into this area so that I can replace the hose?

Thanks

Heater hose -- how do you get behind the firewall?

Hey, guys -- I know someone has done this. How do you get to the "heater end" of this hose?

There are two "walls" that the heater hose has to travel through before getting to the core. I believe the rubber hose from the engine turns and goes though the wall to the area where the wiper motor is and connects to a pipe that goes through the next wall to the inside of the car connecting to the core.

Raise the hood all the way and remove the black plastic leaf guard. The rubber hose terminates under the guard.
