Diagrams/AllData

I'm wanting to replace some gunked up interior trim on my C280 (the kind that goes around the door jams) but don't know where I can get instructions or diagrams. I have an AllData subsription but it doesn't show anything trim related. Am I getting in over my head? Thanks

Do you want to know a source of info on replacing the trim, or do you simply want to know how to do this job?
Is the trim you are talking about the one that goes completely around each door opening, on the car body, not the door? Probably just the color of the interior of the car? If that it, the stuff is just pulled off the car body, real easy job. You have the new stuff yet?

Gilly - yes that is exactly the trim piece I'm talking about. It goes around the door "jam", all the way around. It's the piece that constantly gets kicked and grubbed up by my feet, and passengers who do not realize they are riding in a Mercedes! :) You just pull it off? I haven't bought any replacement trim yet because I didn't know what I was getting into. Being new to this forum, I also have a question about fastlane. With a part like this, I can't find it anywhere on fastlane - is it a dealership only kind of part? Where else would I look besides the dealership to get these parts. I also need a new armrest "lid" as the vinyl is cracked. I called the delaership and they say it costs $180.00 - just for the lid. Damn!!! Thanks for all the info!

Geoff:
I believe Fastlane can get you about anything, you may have to email them for a quote. There are other sources too, but if you buy from here (fastlane/partsshop) you are supporting this site.
The only thing extra I can think of in replacing the seals is possibly you may have to take up the plastic threshold pieces on the bottom of the jamb, that's easy to do too. You may want to consider replacing those as well, they get pretty bad looking after awhile.
