Michael:

Put the stock 85 C thermostat in it, or it will run rich all the time.

Too small a radiator will surely overheat the engine! Probably saved money on it, although $500 seems kinda steep to me, would expect $300.

I hope being frozen with water in it didn't bust mine in the 280.....!

One thing about the Thermostat that I have to agree is that yes I replaced my broken thermostat (half open) with a dealer supplied wahler 80C T-stat and it didn't open when it should. So I went to Autozone (a convenient walking distance from my apt.) and replaced it again.. now it runs great.

I thought my Radiator for $300 was expensive.. I can't believe that yours costs a whoppin $800 (from Fastlane..)... damn..

If the rest of the car is great though I'd go with a new radiator...

sorry I can't be of more help..

Good luck! Keep these 116's running!

Smile RESOLUTION

Well folks, I have finally troubleshot and figured out my problem! A few posts ago I had indicated that my w116 was running hot and overheating at high speed. I fixed it by replacing it with a junk yard radiator from a car with a timing chain mishap. I had it checked and for $100.00 the car runs at about 175 degrees F.

I feel an inner peace not felt before. Thank you all very much for all your help.
