Hey Mattman, your car is beautiful, I hope I can make my '90 560 SEL look (and run) as well as yours someday. Your country though, is even more beautiful; stunning scenery in your photos. It reminded me very much of the Monterey Peninsula near my home in California.

I like your car how it is. I dont think you should paint it. A member here put an SEC bumper with fog lights on his SEL. You should do that. I think it looks really nice, once the springs settle in you wont have much wheel gap. Looks awesome

hmmm, I was going to remove the chrome strips from the vertical edges of the doors and monotone it. I think the colour would really suit the monotone look. Does anyone here know photoshop well enough to do a quick colour job for me?

Matt.

removing the chrome strips would definitely be an improvement; make it look less like a "gangtank"

I like the chrome impact strips. Its more like american car material though, but its still looks good. www.benzsport.com has a forum just for photoshoping, just post it there.

That rules, I think I am going to go with the monotone look and ditch those chrome door edge strips. I picked up a one touch window kit from www.bergwerks.com. I also got my springs, headlight upgrade kit, and my firstgear start kit which should be here in a couple of days, from them.

Matt.

Looking good Matt. The spring kit really gives an agressive look to the 560.

He got it at berg werks in california. www.bergwerks.com. Then first gear start is an extreme improvement with any mercedes. Most diesels already start in first.

Has anyone on the board installed a 1st gear start kit? It appears to be a very cheap and worthwhile upgrade.

How difficult was it, what were the results, and is there any reason not to install it (engine wear and tear, etc....)? Thanks.
