The only reason that the V8s in the US didnt come with first gear start is that they were trying to save fuel. First gear will make your car much quicker.

Thanks for the information...the one tip I did get from Bergwerks is that the cut-off switch is a pain in the ass to install so I opted for the simple install, 1st gear start only.

I have gone with the simple version as well. All 560's and most 500's all start in second gear irrespective of whether they are US or Euro.

Cheers
Matt.

One of the options with the first gear start kit is the ability to turn it on or off with a cutout switch, nothing do to with the fuel, just turns first gear start on or off.

Mattman, thanks for bringing this to my attention...very cool upgrade and a hell of a lot cheaper than any other modification out there. I'll let the board know how it turns out.

Nice lookin ride. It looks like you have a front rake to it. What thickness coild spacers did you use in the front and back?
Also where did you get the lighted door sills?
THanks,
Dan

The rear needs to be reset as the self levelling is holding it up.

Not sure what spring pads are in the rear, the front has #1's.
