My CLK has 3600 mi on it. I got in it today and the sunroof, garage door opener, front interior lights,auto-dimming mirror and the radio part of the keyless entry don't work. No power. After looking thru the manual I discovered all of the above are on fuse #9 in the main fuse box under the hood. I changed fuses but it's not a fuse. It's going to the shop under warranty, but,I must admit I'm a little disappointed. Especially since I can't get it in until the 28th. Anyway, anyone want to hazard a guess? I'll post the cause after it's fixed.

It sounds to me as if a relay or multi-use module isn't powering up.?.

The overhead light is a control module that controls the listed components' operation. Unless you are very familiar with diagnosing faults with control module operaton, I would leave the vehicle as-is for the technician to diagnose.

Oh, you can bet your boots I'm not the guy thats fixing this. This is my first MB and my wifes already asking "What do you like so much about this car?". I reply "Honey, did you know that 80% of mercedes sold after 1960 are still on the road". Wife:"Do their sunroofs work?"

Can you give me a source for that statistic Mr Swearingen?
Thanks, David 1984 300D |
Well thats why I went thru 2 CLK430's since Sept 98 and finally got rid of the beast and got this E55. Quality control on the CLK is rediculous. All I can say is hopefully the '00 models will be better.

David, I can't remember where I read that stat. It was probably on a dealer site. I only quote it to get the wife off my back,as that's how I sold her on it. "We'll have this car forever!" Jesseliu, did mercedes take back your first Clk430? What problems did they have?
