any advice on timing a 77 450sl would be appreciated. doooos and dooon'ts

If this is a U.S. car there should be a tag on the radiator suport with the specs. Most of the cars in this era set at TDC +- a couple of deg. If you are using preminum fuel then you can set the timing a couple of deg. higher.
