94 C280 ignition wiring question
Hello everybody, I'm Joel. I'm actually from the 190 Revolution site but came over here for some tech advice for a c280 that I am working on. Somebody brought me a 1984 C280 with the ignition switch removed and needs me to put it back together. The guy that took it apart dismantled the harness/plug that connects to the ignition switch (big round plug on the back with 7 pins). So the 7 wires are hanging loose and I need to find out the correct way to plug them back into the switch. The switch has numbers for each pin and the wires of course are color coded. Would anybody here be able to hook me up with a wiring diagram for this? I would really appreciate any information! Thanks!
Joel

Hello M.B. Doc,
Thank you very much for the info. I really appreciate you and this forum. I see that you are a fellow 16v enthusiast. Just curious, what type of intake do you use? Or if it is stock, do you know of an upgrade or method to get more fuel? I have contacted Weber about possibly fabricating a manifold for sidedraft carbs. I've seen a set-up on an 8v. Have you ever heard of or seen sidedrafts used on our 16vs? Got any advice for getting more performance out of my motor? I've already rebuilt the head with new valves, guides, 8500rpm springs, and 256deg cams. The motor already has 10.5:1cr (euro), w/very good compression. Do you have a website or link for pics of your car? You can see my car on the 190Rev forum banner (has CLK wheels, right after Clinton's car): http://azure.bbboy.net/190revolution-viewforum?forum=1 I'll attach a pic of my car too. Thanks again. Sincerely, Joel

Uh oh, I just found that there is no red/black wire in this assortment. Rather, there is a pink/yellow, all else is the same as what you said. So does this pink/yellow go with the 15r circuit in place of the red/black?

Yes, the car could have pink/yellow 15R circuit
In SCCA ITS we must run "blueprinted" stock engnes. So yes I run stock intake. Would love to run the "evo" intake & electronic injection. Good for 30 hp!! Right now I'm building a 2.5 engine for my 1986 16V street car. Would love to make 200 HP at flywheel!

Hey thanks again for the info! I'll try it out tonight and let you know if all went well.
What kind of FI does the EVO have? Is it hard to get? 30hp from the EVO FI would be a good start if the price was right. Anybody have a source out there for that? I heard now that Mikuni makes a dual carb set-up for the 16v but one person recommended against it. I too want to have more hp at the wheels, at least 250+, crazy huh. But I don't want to use forced induction or nitrous yet.

El Perfecto! Just reinstalled the ignition switch today and started right up. Thanks again MB Doc!
Check us out on the 190Rev forum. We're talking about what to do with our 16v's on various threads. A couple of guys already have 2.6 strokers there. We had them dyno'd a few weeks ago. You're input would be greatly appreciated. We'll be looking out for you there. Thanks! Joel
