outside temp display gone bad again
outside temp display went bad so l changed the sensor at the bumper. like someone suggested l cut the cable instead of running it all the way to the dash board. lt read correct temp for 3 months...now it shows temp 20 F lower than actual.
Any ideas? what should l look for now??? thanks

How did you splice the cable?
If you just twisted the wires together, they have corroded. The corrosion causes an increase in the wire's resistance, and this would be added to the varying resistance the temperature sensor has depending on its temperature. So, the best way to splice the wires is going to be to solder them. That makes a more permanent connection that doesn't corrode internally. Ken300D |
