380 / 420 trans
Does a 380 and a 420 motor use the same transmission.

The 420SEL trans will 'FIT" both cars, but the 380SE(L) trans won't fit a 420SEL. However MB designs a different transmission for almost each & every different model, so the trans "may" not shift as well(correctly) in a different model car!
