M Class Washer Bottle
 

It came to my attention that many owners of M Class SUVs had issues with the washer bottle. Do you have an experience to share?
What I know is this:
The bottle was designed in Stutgart by an outside design house. They choose to go with 2 half design - parts were welded and the vertical seam is vertical. Since 1994 some plastic bottles due to the temperatures under the hood initiarte a small crack at the weld joint and all washing liquid is lost.
Did you experience this kind of issue?
Recently MBUSA has enlarged the bottle to provide additional liquid for head lights washing as well by going from 5 liters (qts) to 7.5 liters (qts) for 2002 and 2003.

This would be more appropriately posted over at the ML/Gwagen/UNIMOG forum.

I have replaced several washer tanks on ML's. Not as common a failure as some items (window switches, trip computers, door lock actuators) but enough of them to rank as a pattern failure.
