i just purchased a used 96 c280 with 32k. i have noticed that the engine stays warm even hours after driving. i have a 88 420sel, and i don't notice this problem with it.

Does the engine run at normal operating temps? If so you have nothing to worry about. The engine is shrouded for effeciancy. This might be the reason for heat retention.
