Friggin weird wiper problem

I had a new head unit installed yesterday. Today I had the tech go back in and attach the wire that dims the display on the unit to the wiring harness so it would dim when you turn on the lights. Tonight I took it for a spin with the top down and adjusted the seatback position a hair. As soon as I did, the windshield wiper took a pass. I watched in amazement as it did this the rest of the way home. Turned the car off and back on and it is still cycling the wiper on the intermittent position. Of course I have the control on the turn signal turned to the off position. I am freaking out. What could have happened? Please help if you have any ideas!

Can't help you but just to share...

Once when I had a very weak battery, my wiper would make one swipe as soon as I switched on the ignition. Put in new battery and it stopped. Go figure!

the problem was

Alpine has a butt load of wires on the back of their decks. Even though we trimmed them short before installing, the had to be crammed into the console and then the deck compacted into place. There was apparently an arc going on that caused the wipers to run. I had the tech pull the head unit and disconnect the dimmer wire and reattach. We tested the system and no more wipers. Reinstalled and still no wiper problem. Anything learned? Just not to cram too much wire into a hole too small. WTF.
