I have just aquired a 1970 German spec 250 CE. The previous owner had the motor rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. Bills are there to show how expensive! The car blew a head gasket and the rebuilder says head can not be milled again due to valve clearance problems. A new head in Canada is worth more than the car is worth. Is there any other drivetrain (Mercedes) that will swap. This is a manual car. I hate to part out a one owner car in such great shape. I hesitate to spend much on the existing engine since the previous re-build's duration is probably indicative of how the rest of the work was done. Cheers.

There are a few really good cylinder head shops that can straighten warped heads. Also there are many rebuilders that offer rebuilt heads for M.B.s. Don't give up on such a great car.
