IS there a safe/effective way to disable the passenger-side air bag on my '92 500E. We want the kids to be able to ride in the front without the air-bag worry.
Thanks |

On your 1992 500E the SRS system can't disable passenger side air bag. late model Mercedes you can switch off passenger side air bag. ------------------ MB STARS Master Guild Technician,12 years MB tech 5 years independent shop owner |

There should be a way to go in and wire a resistor in to the cable after you disconnect it to keep the drivers side active. A tech will not do this though and I do not endorse this in any way.

For the sake of your children's safety I will trade you my non-passenger air bag 300E for your 500E. I will even screw a few stuffed animals to the dash for them to play with (also acts as extra padding). John H. |
