Fuel Consumption Gauge

Hi All,

I just recently acquired a 1995 S500 coupe...everything is great about the car but just today I noticed something really strange with the Fuel Consumption Guage (MPG gauge). It goes bizerk and does not coinside with the speed or the rpm that it used to. For instance I was going 80mph and the fuel consumption gauge stated that I was going about 30 mpg. and when I just barely touch the gas it would jump to about 0 mpg....any help would do! Glad to be on this board!
