Balancer Pulley on 320 Engines

Is there any sort or recall or cure for the failures of the balancer pulley's on the 320 engines?

THere are threeMB's in our office and two have had the balancer pulleys fail within the last week. (One made a real mess by failing while at 70 MPH on the highway, we looke at the other and it was coming apart the same way.)

Any info will be appreciated, I am now headed back out to the shop to remove the one we caught so it can be replaced.

Thanks

There are no recalls as far as I know.

The only cure is to replace it. I replace the one on my 98 E320 with 78K miles after the rubber gave out several weeks ago.

Mercedes has revised the rubber for the crankshaft pulley. Time will tell if the revised pulley will last.

TRY search for balancer or damper M112 (M113) engines as all V-6 & V-8 engines have this possibility. Has been hashed several times.
